John Lavorato

John is the General Counsel for Filtration Group. In this role, he is responsible for the global legal, compliance and ethics matters as well as the legal team/resources for the company.

Prior to joining Filtration Group, John served in critical leadership roles throughout the legal and operations departments at Dell Technologies for fifteen years.  He held a number of domestic and global leadership roles including providing legal support for public and commercial customer segments, global contracts and proposals, learning and development, the change agent network and customer experience. He has also served on various corporate boards including Dell’s Political Action Committee, Veteran’s Employee Resource Group and the inaugural membership to Men Advocating Real Change, an initiative of Catalyst.

Additionally, John spent three years at Seyfarth Shaw, a national law firm located in Washington, DC. There, he focused on litigation and national and international commercial matters. Before joining Seyfarth Shaw, he served six years as a United States Army Judge Advocate in the Republic of Panama, Republic of Honduras and the United States National Capital Region.

John graduated from Santa Clara University with Bachelor of Science and Juris Doctor degrees. He holds a Master of Law degree from Georgetown University Law Center. Currently, he is the President of the Caritas of Austin Board of Directors, Chairman of the Board for Concordia University – Texas Foundation, and an Adjunct Professor in the MBA program at Concordia University Texas.
